We will need the following documents to confirm the transfer of ownership. Completing this process will allow you to request information about the mortgage and receive notices such as, but not limited to, monthly statements and annual escrow analysis statements.
- Copy of Completed Successor in Interest Information Request Form (click to open PDF form)
- Copy of valid Government Issued ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID card)
- Transfer in Ownership documents
- Death Certificate or Final Decree of Divorce
The request form will ask about your intention for living in the property as well as ask about your interest in assuming the mortgage. An assumption approval may include a review of your credit and income qualifications, as well as prior or current homeownership. If you indicate you are interested in assuming the mortgage, someone will contact you to discuss the process and additional documents needed. You are not required to assume the mortgage once you have been confirmed as a successor in interest. The mortgage may require owner occupancy. If you will not occupy the property, you must also return a Temporary Vacancy Request form.
If the property is transferring to multiple Successors in Interest, each individual will need to complete an Information Request Form and submit a copy of their valid government issued ID. We do not need multiple copies of the same back-up documents for the transfer of ownership.
